Electrolytic Nickel Plating

Electrolytic nickel plating is a galvanic process in which a layer of nickel is deposited on metal surfaces using an electric current. The treatment improves corrosion resistance, surface hardness, and aesthetic appearance.
At AEB Torneria, this process is managed in collaboration with specialized external partners, selected for their ability to operate according to strict quality standards and for having equipment suitable for processing a wide variety of components.
AEB oversees the entire process from a technical and quality management perspective—from the preparation of the parts to the final inspection—ensuring that each treatment complies with the specifications provided by the client.
The service is available for a wide range of materials, including steel, brass, copper, bronze, and nickel silver, and is perfectly suited for small to medium-sized turned components, even those with complex geometries.

Technical benefits of electrolytic nickel plating

Coating thickness control and process repeatability
Thanks to the expertise of AEB’s galvanic partners and its internal technical supervision, it is possible to achieve consistent and controlled coating thickness, even on challenging surfaces, while maintaining tight tolerances and high repeatability—key factors for components used in high-precision sectors.

Surface protection and wear resistance
The nickel layer provides excellent resistance to corrosion, abrasion, and chemical agents, making it ideal for parts exposed to aggressive environments or frequent mechanical stress.

High-quality aesthetic finish
The combination of accurate surface pre-treatment and thorough post-process quality control allows for bright, uniform, and well-adhered finishes. This makes the treatment particularly suitable for visible components or for applications where aesthetics have a functional role, such as in the medical or electronics industries.

Typical application fields

Transportation and mobility
Used for structural components, hinges, fittings, and small metal parts requiring enhanced protection against oxidation and wear, even in harsh environmental conditions.

Safety, control, and medical sectors
Ideal for components where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are essential. Electrolytic nickel plating also ensures easy cleaning, durability, and functional reliability.

Civil industry and sports sector
Perfect for turned parts such as handles, brackets, supports, or accessories that require both a long-lasting aesthetic finish and functional surface protection integrated into the design of the component.
